TLW Founder,
K. Rashid Nuri

Since its beginning in 2006, Truly Living Well Center for Natural Urban Agriculture (TLW) has used its expertise to demonstrate how food can be a bridge across diverse cultures, backgrounds, and experiences. Our goal is to use food production as the plate on which we create a culture of health and wellness in our community.

Our programs and activities provide agriculture training, nutrition, education and job creation. By regularly harvesting healthy produce throughout the year, TLW provides our community with a dependable, consistent source of fresh produce, much of which can be earmarked specifically for those who cannot afford to purchase it otherwise. Truly Living Well grows better communities by connecting people with the land through education, training, and demonstration of economic success in natural urban agriculture. We demonstrate sustainable and economically viable solutions for helping people to eat and live better.

TLW is committed to bringing good food, good health and well-being to Atlanta’s urban center. Today, 81% of Americans live in metropolitan areas. The urbanization of our world makes bringing farming to our cities, not just a good idea, but an essential one if we are to secure and sustain a sufficient fresh food supply for all.

Our guiding principles are to emulate nature in the production of food, educate our community old and young, and create a green space where the community can gather and be creative. The work of TLW builds a local sustainable food economy by demonstrating the viability of producing high quality, naturally grown fruits and vegetables in the urban environment. Our farm sites in Metro Atlanta produce naturally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers and other added-value products. Our model establishes the transformative power of urban agriculture

K. Rashid Nuri is the Founder of Truly Living Well Center for Natural Urban Agriculture. Rashid's vision came clear in his youth. He says God spoke to him and told him to learn every thing about food from the seed to the table. He has followed that directive for more nearly 50 years and around the world.
