The Urban Grower Program is a 12-week program wherein participants learn practical urban agriculture techniques like how to plant and maintain an urban farm. Students engage in the management of the unique certified naturally-grown TLW farms including its greenhouse space. Students can expect to develop skills by engaging in day-to-day work and operation of the farm.
The hands-on urban agriculture training received on our sites will be combined with workshops, lectures, readings, and assignments that build participants’ knowledge and understanding of naturally grown farming principles and practices. Students will also tour other urban agriculture businesses around the metro Atlanta area in order to broaden their overall experience. During the course, students will connect with some of the best minds in the field. At the end of the program each participant will have the tools in hand to be a successful Urban Grower!
No prior agricultural training or experience is needed to enter the program. The only prerequisites are an openness to learn, a commitment to hard work, and the desire to succeed!
