TLW offers a variety of opportunities for individuals and groups to learn about farming, connecting with the land, and helping TLW grow! Volunteer opportunities are a fun and meaningful way for groups and corporate entities to build skills in teamwork, process thinking, cooperation, and bonding through shared experiences.

TLW averages about 4000 volunteers during the year. We host about 50 volunteers per month through Hands On Atlanta, 200 people for Hands On Atlanta Community Service Day, 400 volunteer for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, and more than 500 people from Home Depot, FDIC, Mail Chimp, Microsoft work on our farm site as a commitment to the community and fresh, locally grown food. Since we began this work in 2006, volunteers have been an integral part of TLW.
You can volunteer as an individual, family unit or as a large group. Tell us your interest; and we’ll work to pair you with a staff member to find activities that will be engaging, and educational. Whether you’re skilled at office work, planning and organizing, or enjoy getting your hands dirty, working in the soil, caring for the produce we have an opportunity for you! When you come to volunteer please wear closed- toed shoes (no sandals or flip flops!), long pants, and a long sleeve shirt (even in the summer). With the exception of the Market Team, you will inevitably be dealing with dirt at some point so please wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring a refillable water bottle, as we will have a jug of water onsite for you to fill up at. Farm work is not easy, but at the end of the day it delivers a feeling of satisfaction that can’t be beat!
In partnership with Hands on Atlanta, volunteers are invited to help out with farm tasks at our new Collegetown farm and East Point location. Please set up a volunteer profile with Hands on Atlanta and sign up for any of our ongoing service opportunities here. Both of our farm sites are accessible via Marta transit system rail and bus options.
Please check the TLW Calendar for upcoming events which are great volunteer opportunities. For more information please don’t hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 678.973.0997.
